“Our society needs to recognize that a mother’s mental health is just as important, if not more, than her baby’s well being. A happy healthy Mom means a thriving family”

Meet Krissy, the founder of HER the motherhood shift. Krissy is a mom of two girls and a passionate Registered Nurse determined to change the way mothers are cared for. She has over 10 years of nursing experience specializing in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Perinatal Mental Health.

Shortly after her first daughter was born she began experiencing terrifying intrusive thoughts and paralyzing anxiety. It wasn’t until her daughter was 16 months old that she finally received a proper diagnosis of Postpartum Anxiety and OCD. Krissy strongly believes in an upstream approach to care, providing screening, assessment, and education before families reach crisis mode. With Krissy, you will gain a strong advocate, a compassionate nurse, and an experienced mom who has navigated our broken healthcare system.

  • Krissy is trained to screen and assess for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She does this by taking an in depth psychosocial history and reviewing each individual’s risk factors. From there she will help identify what is “normal” and when to be concerned and suggest individualized strategies to help manage symptoms. If there is a need for referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist, Krissy will help find the right provider for you! Her goal is to screen and assess early while educating families on what to watch for before they enter crisis mode. She believes knowledge is power and early recognition is key in supporting families.
